Mortgage Call Reports due for Florida Mortgage Brokers

IMPORTANT INFORMATION Mortgage Call Reports

ALL...I repeat...ALL Florida licensed mortgage companies (Mortgage Brokers and Mortgage Lenders), MUST file a very important piece of financial information through the NMLS - The Mortgage Call Report or MCR The MCR is broken up into 2 components: 1.    the Residential Mortgage Loan Activity (RMLA) and  2.    the Financial Condition (FC)  Failure to submit the MCR will result in administrative fines of $1,000 and possible license revocation by the Florida Office of Financial Regulation (FLOFR). Here are some FAQs regarding the Mortgage Call Report.... FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Who needs to submit the Mortgage Call Report (MCR)? NMLS and the Florida Office of Financial Regulation (FLOFR) requires the following License holders to submit the MCR: Mortgage Broker  Mortgage Lender Mortgage Lender Servicer Individual Mortgage Loan Originators (MLOs) are not required to submit the MCR because the Mortgage Broker will file it for the whole company. When does the Mortgage Call Report (MCR) need to be submitted? The Standard Mortgage Call Report is broken up into 2 components:  the Residential Mortgage Loan Activity (RMLA) and  the Financial Condition (FC)  The RMLA is due within 45 days of the end of every fiscal quarter. Most companies will have the following schedule: Q1 data (January 1 – March 31) is due May 15 Q2 data (April 1 – June 30) is due August 14 Q3 data (July 1 – September 30) is due November 14 Q4 data (October 1 – December 31) is due February 14 The Financial Condition (FC) is due annually within 90 days of the company's Fiscal Year End. For example, if the company's Fiscal Year End was December 31, 2011 that means the FC is due by March 30, 2012 (22 days from now – no exceptions). How do I submit the Mortgage Call Report? The Mortgage Call Report (MCR) is submitted through the NMLS website. We are quickly approaching March 31 and according to a recent report from the DBPR, nearly 70% of Florida real estate licensees with a March 31, 2012 renewal date HAVE NOT renewed their license. Remember that in order to renew your license, you not only have to pay your $85 renewal fee, but you must also complete your education requirement, whether it's Continuing Education or Post-License Education. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When can I submit for license renewal through DBPR?
You will receive a License Renewal notice in the mail from the DBPR roughly 90 days (3 months) prior to your license renewal date. You are not allowed to renew your license before you receive the notice from the DBPR.

How much does it cost to renew my license?The license renewal fee is $85 and is paid at the time you submit your license renewal request to the DBPR. You can either mail a check along with the notice you received in the mail, or pay by credit card online at www.myfloridalicense.com. Select “Renew Your License” at the top of the page.

When is the deadline to submit my renewal?
You must complete your Continuing Education and pay your renewal fee before your license expiration date (licenses expire on March 31 or September 30). If you do not complete the post-licensing education prior to your renewal date, your license will automatically go INACTIVE.

I have already completed some of my continuing education and only need a couple more courses. Can I complete individual courses at Larson Educational Services?
Yes. We have very flexible schedule with our timely and educational programs. You can attend our courses in 3 and 4 hour segments based on the topic of your choosing and tuition is only $28 per topic. CLICK HERE to view our online schedule.

Do I need to pass an exam?
No, as long as you complete the course in the classroom there is no exam. However, if you complete the course in an online format or through correspondence, you will need to pass a 30 question final exam. CLICK HERE for information about our online and correspondence courses.
